What You Get When You Book a Disney Cruise Line Concierge Stateroom

When you book a Disney Cruise Line Vacation, you are booking an experience like no other.  Disney creates moments that are memorable for all visitors.  As an additional option to cruising with Disney, guests can reserve one of the exclusive Concierge Staterooms on a Disney Cruise (subject to availability of course).

Concierge Staterooms are premium cabins on board the Disney Cruise ships.  The rooms are grand and luxurious. You get 5-star service with superior amenities.   Once you experience the Disney Cruise Line Concierge service, you wouldn’t want to cruise any other way.

My family and I had the pleasure of traveling on a 5-day Disney Magic Cruise.  We stayed in the Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.  This would be my second time cruising on Disney but our first time in a Concierge Stateroom.  Although the cost for the Concierge family stateroom is about 25-35 % more than the standard Oceanview room with verandah, from the moment we booked our trip I was pleased with my selection.

Here’s What You Get When You Book a Disney Cruise Line Concierge Stateroom:

Dedicated Customer Service

Once you reserve your Concierge Family Stateroom you’ll receive the full-service benefits.  You’ll be given a dedicated number to Concierge Customer Service agents to handle all of your pre-cruise needs and questions.  No need to wait on hold or press any numbers when you dial-in, the phone rings directly to a Concierge advisor.

Note: The Family Concierge Staterooms sell-out quickly. Full payment must be made 120 days in advance and all payments are non-refundable.

Early Access to Book Your Excursions

As a Concierge guest, you’ll have early access to book your port excursions, which is a month before general cruisers.  One of the most popular excursions is the private cabanas at Disney Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.  There is limited availability in this private area of the island and sells out quickly.  There are a few other excursions, depending on where you cruise, that are also popular.  They can easily be booked online or by calling your Concierge Customer Service.

The Concierge Staterooms feature Oceanview Verandahs and are located in an exclusive area on board the ship.  The walls of the hallway outside of the rooms are high polished wood-grain giving you the feel of being in a private area.  Expect to find premium luxury bedding, sheets, and towels. Select soaps, shampoo, and lotions.  Every detail is thought of inside these well-appointed suites.

The family stateroom was spacious enough for our family of four. The beds were very comfortable and a great place to rest after a long day on the ship.
Boarding Priority

As a Concierge guest, you are not required to schedule a time to board the ship like other guests.  You are able to complete all of your pre-cruise documents in advance at home.  When you arrive at Port to set sail, you’ll be escorted to a designated check-in area just for Concierge guest.  There you will be met by attendants that will verify your documents and get your children registered for the Oceaneers Club (the supervised child only play area on board the ship).

Attendants will also expedite you and your loved ones through security and directly on to the ship.  Your bags will arrive much sooner than other guest and your cabin will likely be ready earlier than others.

Personalized Cruise Itinerary

When you arrive on board, as a Concierge guest you are invited to a meet and greet with your personal attendant inside the Concierge Lounge. There you will receive your personalized cruise itinerary.  This itinerary will have a list of recommended activities, Disney character meet and greet, dinner reservations, and all of your pre-booked excursions.  This is especially helpful to guide you through your days since there’s so much happening on board the ship and it’s easy to miss something important.

Exclusive Character Meet & Greet

There are exclusive character Meet and Greet opportunities scheduled for Concierge guest inside the lounge.  You’ll find the details printed on your personal itinerary.  Additionally,  when you arrive early on board you’ll want to request tickets for the other character Meet and Greets that’s happening on the ship, such as the Disney Princess Meet and Greet.  The Meet and Greets outside of the Concierge Lounge are open to everyone, but there are a few that require you to have a ticket. These tickets are limited.

Personal Concierge Attendant

You’ll be assigned a personal Concierge Attendant to your Stateroom.  They are available 24 hours a day. If you want to make changes to your itinerary, your cruise attendant is available to assist you.  There is a phone inside the Stateroom that can be used anywhere on the ship to contact your attendant or other guests.  If you have a special request or would like room service, you only need to make one phone call.  They are there to make your cruise experience easy and memorable.

Because some moments require meditation. This guy was overjoyed cruising on Disney, he needed this moment to collect himself. Namaste!
Access to the Concierge Lounge

The Concierge Lounge is open for you and your family to relax and hang out at any time during your cruise.  There is high-speed internet access, large flat screened monitors, a sun deck, and one of the biggest cafe machines you’ll ever find at sea.  There’s light refreshments, snacks, dessert, and all day goodies.  There’s also a nightly cocktail hour featuring a selection of wines, fruits, and cheeses. Fresh popcorn is available in the lounge to take with you to the theater to view a movie or live Disney show.   And it’s all complimentary to you as a Concierge guest.

Disembark When You Want

Once your Disney Cruise comes to an end it’s time to disembark the ship. As a concierge guest, you can take as long as you want or leave the ship as early as you want.  Full breakfast is served in the main dining halls and the Concierge Lounge offers continental breakfast items.  You’ll be asked to leave your luggage outside of your room to expedite the arrival process.  Since you are likely returning to the US, your bags will be processed and screened by US Customs.  Disney is very organized and the process is very orderly.

Whether it’s your first time ever on a Disney Cruise or your first time as a Concierge guest, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.  The service is exceptional and is one of the most popular ways to cruise Disney.  It’s no wonder why Concierge guests are some of the most frequent and loyal Disney Cruisers.

Travel Well!

    1. Hi Lauren, I’m so glad we booked it. We also enjoyed our first experience in the standard staterooms but when I saw the option to book Concierge Stateroom, and at the time the additional cost was reasonable, we took a chance. Sight unseen and not a whole lot of details about what you get when you book the Concierge on their site. But we have no regrets and will only cruise Disney in a Concierge Stateroom!!

  5. I love cruising but have never tried a Disney Cruise because I don’t have children. Yes, I know adults do book this cruise as well. I would love to have concierge service. It appears as if the money is well worth it. I would love the meet and greet with the characters as well . I like the special treatment that you can receive.

  6. This is so cool! I know my children would especially love the meet and greet. My youngest was in awe when we went to Disney this summer. Thank you so much for sharing this thorough post of what to expect when booking a disney cruise line! Now I want to plan a trip for my family! I’m going to check out your expenses post and bookmark these for future reference (and letting hubby in on the planning action). Thank you for sharing!
