Disney’s New Freaky Friday at Horizon Theater $5 Off

The kids and I had a chance to experience a preview of the new Disney musical Freaky Friday at the Horizon Theater. The story, which originated as a book in 1972 by Mary Rodgers, has been remade into a movie first in 1976 and then again in 2003 starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan.

Freaky Friday is a story about Ellie and her mom, Katherine. Ellie is a teen that is dealing with some real life drama from the loss of her father, upcoming wedding ceremony for her mom and soon to be step-dad, an active little brother, and fitting in at high school. It all hits the fan when Ellie and her mom’s souls are magically switched into the other person’s body on one freaky Friday.

The Horizon Theater cast offers viewers an exciting and engaging performance through song, music, choreography, and of course, real life storytelling as only Disney can tell.   Families of teens and tweens will really enjoy the comedic dialogue amongst the characters set in modern day Chicago.

The show runs from March 9 to April 22, 2018.
