Where Have You Been My Mommy Flies?

Hello everyone! It’s been such a long time.  I hope I haven’t let you down waiting on a new post.

So much has happened since I last shared nearly 3 months ago.  It seems the longer it’s been since my last post the harder it is to jump back in.  Here’s my attempt to get back on the blogging train, thanks for sticking with me.

I thought I start re-blogging by giving you a recap of what I’ve been up to, the places I’ve been, and people I’ve seen.

The summer of 2016 was filled with lots of fun travel!  I started in Chicago for a Girlfriends Getaway with a few of my friends.  Can I just say, I LOVE Chicago! Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Shopping, Dining, Garrett’s, oh my! Too much to list but I highly recommend putting it on your list of places to visit with friends or family. I will blog about this Girlfriends Getaway for sure.

My family and I have been vacationing in the Outer Banks for the past few summers and this year was no exception. The beach was perfect. I got to unplug for a few days, didn’t comb my hair, and well…just relaxed for 6 days.  We did try fishing for the first time and caught nothing but we promised to try again soon.

This summer I had a few work layovers worth mentioning Dusseldorf, Germany and Lagos, Nigeria.  I bought some great fabric in Lagos and ate ice cream and a quaint town near Dusseldorf.  Life is sweet!

I can’t forget to mention the getaway with my Girls Scout troop to Savannah, GA.  We stayed at the lovely Embassy Suites and spent 3 days and 2 nights in the Historic District.  We toured Juliette Gordon Lows Birthplace, Girl Scout First Headquarters, and a few more Girl Scout favorites.   My girls, 10-4th graders, said it was the best experience they’ve had and they are eager to return.  Truth be told, I feel the same way

And finally, I started hosting Internet Safety Workshops in my community.  Open access to the internet is the most overlooked danger to children. I needed to learn and research more about it to share with other families.  You may see a few more post about Internet Safety on my site. I hope you find it helpful for you and your love ones.

Well folks, that’s the gist of my hiatus.  Sorry to disappoint, if you were expecting me to say I’m pregnant or some other BIG news so sorry.   Sometimes we all need a break to recharge our energy and spirit.

Over the next few months I have some amazing trips planned.  I wish I could reveal them to you but the little bit of superstition that lives in me just won’t let me to.  But please check back soon, I promise to share it all with you.

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you really should. I always post photos of where I am and what I’m doing.

Until next time, which wont be as long as before I promise, safe travels everyone!

  1. What a great summer you had. Glad your back on the blogging scene but a while summer unplugged is such a good thing.
