It’s a New Year and I’ve already started planning travel for 2016.
But first I needed to recap our travels for 2015 to see just how much I accomplished..
Here’s my original post created in January 2015 listing all of my plans for the year.
Though I didn’t get to visit some of the places on my list, I had a very memorable travel year!
A Look Back: My Mommy Flies 2015 Travels
In January 2015 we went to Washington D.C. to visit the Martin Luther King Jr. monument during the MLK weekend. We also visited the National Air and Space Museum and the National Building Museum.
Over Valentine’s Day Weekend we drove to Pigeon Forge, TN to spend a few days in the cabins. We did snow tubing in the mountains and went to Great Bear Water Park Resort.
In March my husband and I dipped into Denver, CO to see Stevie Wonder in concert at the Pepsi Center. We also got to see my dad and sister and pass on some much needed hugs and kisses from the kids.
2015 Spring Break came fast and I was so excited to go on our first camping experience in Anastasia State Park in Florida. We definately plan to do this again.
Heres a review of our camping experience: Beach Camping at Anastasia State Park

Summer 2015 was filled with many of my favorite destinations.
In May my family had a small reunion in Florida and we rented a house with a pool for the long Memorial Day weekend. The kids loved it! We got to cook out, hang with family, and swim all day long. What more could you ask for?

My Girlfriends Getaway was in Savannah this year. We stayed at the Brice Hotel for the weekend and dined at the Pink House. We had such a good time laughing, dining, and dancing in Savannah this year! This year it will be in Chicago and I can’t wait to share it with you guys.

By mid June I was driving 2 hours from Newport News Airport to Hatteras, NC where my extended family rented a beach house for the week. It was my first time in the Outer banks and it was beautiful. The Outer Banks, NC is also back on our 2016 travel list.
I couldn’t stay the full week at the beach because my husband and I were headed to France for the Vin Expo. We stayed in Paris for a few days before catching a train ride to Bordeaux France. It was so nostalgic because I first fell in love with Paris in April 2014 when we celebrated our 10 year Anniversary in Paris.
Take a look at our Paris 10 Year Anniversary Trip in 2014 Black and In Love In Paris and this years trip I rocked my favorite hair styles in this post Senegalese Twists in France.
By August I was in New York for a week with the kids. We stayed in Brooklyn close to family but got around the city and the kids saw their first Broadway show, Finding Neverland. Living so far from relatives it’s a joy to be able to spend time with them. Here are some of my post from our family travel to New York City:
5 Reasons to Drive in New York City and one of my favorites How to Survive Broadway With Kids.
This year for my birthday in September we went to Montego Bay Jamaica and stayed at the Hyatt Ziva resort. It was one of the best all inclusive resorts in Jamaica. We also got to explore the Green Grotto caves in Ocho Rios. I created this awesome post in Jamaica about the packing cubes I purchased at Ikea.
By the end of the year I decided to stay put during the holidays. I wanted to do some major improvements in my home and didn’t want to be distracted with travel for a few months. Here some post I created to share my declutter experience.
2015 Awesome Layovers
I did get to explore some awesome cities for the first time during my layovers at work.
In Austin I ran a few miles along the river. Such an amazing view.
In Des Moines I took in the scenes by the capital building.
Speaking of Capitols, Albany New York has one of the most beautifully capitol buildings ever. I was there for a layover and had such a good time exploring the building and a few of the eateries nearby.
In Lexington Kentucky I stumbled on the Lexicon and experienced my first Comicon. Awesome!
Cancun , Paris, and a few more New York City layovers made 2015 one of my best travel years yet!
